This policy covers Pet Stop Pet Fence Systems of Alabama and the websites we operate: dogfenceal.com, petstopalabama.com, alabamadogdoors.com, and dogfencehelp.com, including our online store and Shield Plan pages.
When you request an estimate or service. Your name, address, phone number, email address, and details about your property and your pets. We collect this because we cannot design a containment system or dispatch a technician without knowing where you are, what your yard looks like, and what kind of dog we are working with.
When you become a customer. Service history, equipment installed, training notes, warranty status, and billing records. We keep this so that when you call us in six years about a wire break, we already know what is buried in your yard.
When you buy from our online store. Your name, shipping address, email, and order details. Payment card information goes directly to Square, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
When you visit our websites. Standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and the site or search that referred you. We use Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager to understand which pages people find useful. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on.
When you call or text us. Your phone number, and notes about the conversation so the next person you speak with has context.
We use text messages for appointment confirmations, service updates, follow-up after training visits, and review requests. We text customers because it is how most people prefer to hear from us.
You can stop at any time by replying STOP to any message from us, or by telling any of us in person or on the phone. We will not text you marketing offers you did not ask for. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
We share information only with the companies that help us run the business, and only what they need to do their part:

Our websites use cookies to keep the site working properly and to measure traffic. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies in their settings. Our store checkout runs on Square, which sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
We keep customer and service records for as long as you own the system we installed, and afterward as long as we are required to for warranty, tax, and accounting purposes. If you asked for an estimate and never became a customer, we keep that inquiry for a limited period and then remove it.
You can ask us to show you what we have, correct anything that is wrong, or delete your information. Email office@petstopalabama.com or call the office and ask. We will not make it difficult.
Two honest limits. If you have an active warranty, an open service plan, or an unpaid balance, we have to keep enough to honor it. And we cannot delete records we are required by law to retain.
You can unsubscribe from our emails using the link at the bottom of any message, and stop texts by replying STOP.
Our services are sold to adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including limiting access to the people who need it to do their jobs. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you.
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be noted here rather than made quietly.
